Hi to all,
We have some CR1000X in sites where 2 internet connections are disponible, a main one via a fiber and ethernet port, directly connected to the logger port, for sending data via SFTP and alarm emails.
The other one via 4G router via RS232 and PPP and VPN connection to reach the logger for various needs (programming, checking values, clock and other possibilities).
In case of malfunctions, if the fiber goes down then in emergency data and emails will be sent via the 4G PPP connection.
Through a scheduled test as soon as the fiber connection is restored, the logger should reactivate normal functionality.
Do you have any suggestions for making the logger manage the 2 connections smart? thank you
Firstly, you should set up your CR1000X with dual connections provides a robust data transmission solution. The primary fiber connection handles SFTP and alarm emails, while the 4G backup ensures continuity during outages. Implement regular testing of failover processes and monitor connection statuses for reliability. Document configurations and maintain logs to assist with troubleshooting.
And if you need more details on any aspect, let me know!
